I have been thinking about my blessings today. Our car has been to the shop twice in a week, a few hundred dollars later and it still doesn't work. I don't realize how good life is sometimes until little things don't go smoothly like they always do. I know my car not working isn't a big deal but when it is winter and -30 or more outside I sure do appreciate things working. THANK YOU to fabulous friends and neighbors who help us out. You know who you are and we appreciate you.
We are having our first Christmas by ourselves this year. I didn't think it would happen until we had our own children but with circumstances this year we felt it best to stay home. We will miss our families but appreciate you and love you and want you to know that we will think of you and will phone.
Thank you to our friends here who have become part of our family and that we can celebrate with you.
I know my Heavenly Father lives and knows me and you. We are important to Him and because He knows us He answers prayers. He also has provided us with our Savior Jesus Christ who was born in humble circumstances and lived a perfect life. I am grateful for my Saviors example and for His love for me and for providing a way for all of us to continually repent and become better and that we can live with Him again. He is one of my best friends and I know He lives and will come again.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas, with health, happiness and the desires of your hearts.
We love you and thank you for being in our lives and allowing us to be blessed by being in yours.

It should NOT be an option.
Sick. Mad. Frustrated. Sad. That is how I feel.
I just got back from a Dr. appointment where I met a girl who is thinking about having an abortion. Yes, an abortion. Me, being a woman who has not yet been able to have a child was a little stunned. I asked her not to have one. I told her that people are trying, like myself, to have a child and can't would love to have a baby. If she feels that she is not ready to have a child and wants to build her career, fine, but give the baby a chance and give a couple a chance to have a family. She can then have one when she is ready. I asked her to promise me that she wouldn't have an abortion but she still said she wasn't sure and wanted to see what her Dr. would say. Seriously?!!
Abortion should not be an option. It should be - have the child and adopt it or have it and keep it and take care of it. I just feel sick about this.
So, off we go to get adoption paperwork done and to save lots of money for procedures that cost WAY too much but will hopefully get the results we want.
Thanks for your prayers. They are always needed and appreciated.

So much to be thankful for

So, I am sure everyone is just as full of turkey as I am! But when you only get it a couple of times a year you need to get your fill.
I am especially grateful right now in my life for good family and friends. We have so much fun together and I appreciate the support and guidance I get from them. Thank you.

I have the greatest parents.
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!
Now a brag post for my parents.
You have taught me to/how:
-work hard
-love others and to serve others
-be an example
-have fun
-enjoy life
-be kind to your family and support them
-be a good friend
-fulfill my church callings as I should
and on, and on, and on.
Have a great day together. We think of you lots and hope one day we can live closer to you.
Don't worry Mike, it's just a number!
It's Mikes birthday today and can I just tell you how glad I am that he is in this world. And I am the lucky one now who gets to be with him for eternity.
Here is a little brag list for you about my wonderful husband:
-he makes french toast for us every weekend
-he makes me laugh
-he says and shows me he loves me
-he is smart. He reads any historical and news document he can get his hands on. I warn anyone that plays Trivial Pursuit with him. He will blow your socks off.
-he has the most beautiful blue eyes. and a cute smirky smile.
-he loves the gospel. He is a worthy priesthood holder.
-he supports me in what I do.
-he cares about how I feel and does what he can to make me feel better if I am down.
....and on, and on, and on.
Happy Birthday Mike. I love you.

We are addicted to....
Murder She Wrote! On our couch, in front of our TV every day at 5:00 is where you will find Mike and I. It has our one guaranteed hour to spend together before Mike goes to class at night. Although Mike is now done and passed with flying colors. We each take a guess as to who we think is guilty (Mike's idea). It's a lot of fun to see if we are right.
We have decided to cut our cable so we aren't in front of the TV anymore (or as much!) and the library only has one DVD of the show which we have already rented! If you see us around shaking nervously it is because we are going through withdrawal.
We will miss you Jessica Fletcher. That is until we give in and go by the series on DVD.

Music to my ears
Mike and I bought a piano. Thanks to Josh, Armes, and Mark who helped Mike move it into the house. Thank you Carrie, for making my dreams come true!
I am SO excited about it. It feels good to have my own piano. I am almost in heaven.
It is amazing to me how a piano makes a house more homey. Such a good feeling.

Same old, same old
I know no news is good news sometimes but I sure wish I had something.
I got nothin'.
Well, other than the fact I am now the young women's president in my ward, and now that it has been a couple of months I think it has sunk in and I think I am finally starting to get the hang of things. This calling was a shocker but I love it. I do miss my nursery kids though. If I could just have some kids of my own missing my nursery kids would go away.
Darn kids. Darn timing. Darn waiting. and waiting, and waiting. Waiting is getting a little old and I am starting to feel like I want to just give up but something keeps me going.
As hard as it is to think I might not be able to have children on my own I think I am finally okay with the idea of starting the paperwork for adoption. I have seen a few blogs lately that talk about adoption and those who have been blessed because of it.
I have to apologize to my family for not telling them this first but I think if I just get this out while I feel like I can't hold it in any longer it will be good. And I am realizing as I sit here crying that I am holding in WAY too many feelings, emotions, heart ache, and dreams.
Wow, talk about opening your heart out to the whole world. ah.
On a less emotional level, we planted our garden last weekend, thanks to Mike's mom and dad and Dawna. Thank you for coming to visit. It was good to hear from Curtis and Leigh too. And Grandma Lil. I love Sundays because of church and the opportunity to talk to family. Not that we can't or don't during the week but that is our scheduled time. and I love it.
We planted tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, pickling cucumbers, corn, potatoes, peas, carrots and onions. I can already taste the crunchy carrots now, freshly cleaned of the garden dirt.
yum.

Does it get any better than this?
Mike and I won tickets to the Jessie Ferrell, Brooks and Dunn and Alan Jackson concert last night! It was SO good. Mike and I are huge fans of Alan Jackson and I just loved how relaxed and easy going he was. He really cares about who is in the crowd. During one of his songs he had video of Saskatoon!
The whole concert was awesome. It was nice to spend some time with Mike.

Did you notice the picture of me by the trucks? That was just before the concert.
The picture of the snow is what it looked like when the concert ended!

HAPPY EASTER
I hope you all have a great weekend, hopefully a long weekend for most of you. I am excited to spend my weekend at the temple and at home with my hubby.
I am excited for a boost in my testimony this weekend of the Saviour. I know he lived, died for me and lives again. I am so grateful for His sacrifice for my sins and trials in life. It is such a comfort to be able to personalize the atonement and put it to use in my life.
Again, Happy Easter.

I love a good sale
So, a couple of weeks ago I went shopping. I have been wanting a plain brown skirt and brown pointy sunday shoes for a long time and just haven't found anything I like or as cheap as I want them! ha...anyway, I went to a store called Spring and found my brown pointed shoes for $20!!!
I never found my brown skirt but I found a cute long sleeved polka dot shirt for $5. It is from Bluenotes, which to me is very much a store for teenagers but I went in anyway just in case. And, I found my 'just in case'! So I went back today and sure enough, the shirts were still there, as well as others, in my size too if you can believe it, and they were 50 percent off their discounted price. So, if you do the math I got two shirts today for $5! Here is a picture of the shirts. The shirt I got before was a brown polka dot one and then today I got the blue and pink.
I'm not good at finding deals, especially getting clothes on sale and in my size that fit, so I am pretty happy about these. As you can tell. Although, now I have 3 shirts that are the same, but oh well.

Ssshh...it's a library
I don't know about you but I love going to the library. Mike and I have been going almost once a week for a few months now and we love it. I like just looking through all of the magazines and CDs. I usually bring home a few magazines and Mike brings home a few CDs.
I have also enjoyed borrowing the DVDs, specifically the old movies...westerns, musicals, etc. Well, of course the musicals are for me and the westerns are for Mike :o) Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good western but musicals just aren't Mike's thing. I will admit that he does like a couple of them but I won't get into too much detail about that as he will probably get teased by all of his friends. Unless they secretly like musicals too! haha
anyway...it's something we like doing together, and that is half the fun.
So, get out there and enjoy your library. Your taxes are paying for it so take advantage of it.

What water am I not drinking?
So, it seems as though I get my water from a totally different source than EVERYONE I know. It seems that once this special water has been consumed that you start growing a belly and your family grows by one or more.
So, in order to help with this water source problem I am hoping that surgery at the end of the month will help. I wish I didn't have to go through a not so pleasant rendezvous with my doctor and have painful recovery time to get some results; results of which I don't know will come. But, my amazing husband is going to be at home to take care of me after. Thank you honey.
Hmm, how do I end this post. I think with just a positive note that one of my sisters had a baby girl yesterday and I am the happy aunt of my 8th niece!

Boring!

Well, nothing is really going on at the Lawlor house. We are just working, spending time with friends and trying to stay warm!
I do have a funny little story...
Mike bought all of his family Simpsons pens (ballpoint pens) that talk! When you push the top it says something for whatever characters pen you have. I have Homer and Mike insisted on me taking it to work. I can't lie when I say I wanted to take it to work as well, just for laughs. (teehee) BUT, the thing is SO loud. Mike called me the other day at work and I asked him to pick up some groceries on his way home and the only way he was going to do it was if I pushed the pen. Although when I think about it now, I should have just hung up, cause I didn't want to push the pen. Of course, it was one of the longest quotes and it was so loud. My favorite quote that the pen says is "Today's the day for Homer J". Thank goodness everyone was too busy to notice or was too freaked out at the weirdo around the corner making noise! He was so proud of me for pushing it. He is a funny guy and I like that we can have so much fun together.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
I hope all of you had a great Christmas! From your blogs it looks like you did. Mike and I went to Taber to be with most of Mike's family. We were only there for about 4.5 days as Mike had to work between Christmas and New Years. My company shuts down between Christmas and New Years so it was nice to be able to relax, clean the house and relax with friends.
Pictures of Christmas are on their way but here are a few random ones to tie you over! We got a snow blower from Grandma and Grandpa Rempel! (Thank you!) and thanks to mom and dad for bringing it to Taber and dad Lawlor for putting it on the truck!
We got some really nice frost on the trees and the other picture is me making homemade turtles. Mike was a great help as he wrapped the pecans in the toffee and I dipped them.
