What I learned in seminary this morning
I taught the plan of happiness in seminary today and a few things stuck out in my mind:
1. As much as I want to understand what happens in life, or what doesn't happen that I want to happen, I might not in this life. I really truly might have to wait until that day when I can sit with Jesus and talk to Him. Man that will be hard. I think I need to distract myself with other things to keep my mind off those thoughts and fears and unhappenings in life that keep creeping in.
2. I forget how unresponsive teenagers are in the morning.
3. I need to encourage my students to not be afraid of getting a wrong answer. I want them to know that they will only learn by asking and studying. When I was younger (and sometimes even now) I didn't answer questions because I was afraid to get the wrong answer and I regret that. I would have learned so much more.
4. The plan of happiness is for EVERYONE. The friendly neighbor across the street, your boss, your friend, YOU. That is so incredible. I wonder what the world would be like if everyone understood that they once stood with God and made the choice to follow His plan and to follow Christ, which is why they are here on the earth.
5. I learned that remembering to bring the DVD helps your lesson go much smoother. And a little preparation.
6. I learned (more remembered) how funny it is to watch older seminary videos. You have to really concentrate on what they are saying....and not at the goofy clothes you once thought were 'hot'.
7. My Savior loves me and wants the best for me. But it is up to me to make good choices.

we are here
We have moved and are slowly unpacking boxes. The only monumental things that have made things interesting are:
1. The movers broke our computer desk. We aren't that sad as it is too big for the room we want to put it in at the new house.
2. We couldn't find our utensils for 5 days. Thank goodness for plastic.
3. We still don't have a washer and dryer. It was ordered and shipped but they don't know where it is. So they ordered another one. I sure hope it comes soon. Thank goodness for nice neighbors who are letting me do laundry at their house today.
We love the new house and I love only working three days a week!
We also love that we have visitors coming the next two weekends. Thank you!

family and other stuff
I am happy to say that I am an aunt again for the 22nd time.
I can't wait to meet you baby Orr. Congrats Marla and Dave.
Oh, and we sold our house and put an offer on another! We are happy and feel grateful that our lives are progressing. A new house and new city means visitors (I hope. HINT HINT)
That is my update for today. Oh, and I am making a necklace from old broaches....it is almost done. I will post a picture when it is finished.

words
I hate the word 'preggers'.
I don't hate what it means, obviously, I just hate the word. And yes, hate is a strong word. And yes, I repeat, I hate the word preggers.
Just had to get that off my chest.

head sizes
I need a favor. Please.
I am crocheting baby hats but I'm not sure what most head sizes are.
Can you please tell me how old your baby is and what their head circumference is. It might also help me to have the measurement of just the crown of their head. Then I can get an idea of average sizes. I'm sure I could find a sizing chart but I thought this would be interesting to find out and I needed to post something else anyway.
Thanks in advance for your help. And hey, you might just be rewarded for your efforts. Just saying.

inspiration
I just watched part of a video on YouTube about an amazing girl who has overcome so much. What an inspiration. I have been thinking about my sister JJ who had a horrific accident in November and has also overcome so much.
What a gracious Heavenly Father and kind brother Jesus Christ to allow these women to live with their families still. My thoughts and feelings tonight have been about how I need to appreciate what I have. I talked to another sister tonight and her situation in life to me seems like a dream. To her somedays, it is ordinary and the same. Interesting how that goes sometimes.
I had a wonderful experience at the Regina temple about a month ago. I received an answer to a prayer. Maybe not exactly what I wanted to feel but one I needed and one I appreciated and one I am trying to obey.
It is neat how such little accomplishments in life can make us so happy. I had to give myself a shot yesterday for the first time and I did it! I was so scared, but I did it, and it wasn't as hard as I was expecting. My husband was my cheering section while my shaky hands did what they should and I poked my self successfully.
As my cute 2 year old niece sang to me on the phone tonight..."the sun will come out tomorrow"
For all of you piano players out there, check out www.sheetzbox.com Who doesn't love free sheet music.

memories
I love Sundays. Mike and I get to spend endless hours together. We sleep, read, watch movies (Disney of course) and play games. After doing some personal progress on Sunday I decided it was time for a puzzle.
I l.o.v.e puzzles. and I am good at them. (see that Pensivety, I mentioned something I am good at)
Doing puzzles in my family growing up was mostly a Christmas tradition, but now that I am older it seems I don't do them as much as I used to. It was nice to do one again. It was a 700 piece JIGSAW puzzle of kittens sitting in cowboy boots. When I was younger, say 9 or 10, I used to make sure people knew they were called jigsaw puzzles, not just puzzles. There apparently was a big difference then, to me anyways.
Also, the puzzle means something to me because Kristi and I drove down to Utah one weekend and got to spend some time with her Grandma. Her Grandma only puts a puzzle together once, and then she goes on to another one and never does them twice. So I got a bagfull of puzzles, which I still have, and the cat puzzle was one of them.
My sister Lana also got the puzzle master gene and I like that we share that together.

Age before beauty? (I needed a title okay...don't judge)
One of my beautiful young women wore a new dress to church recently. It was adorable. I want one.
Would it be bad if I went and bought the same dress? What if we showed up on a Sunday and I had the same dress on as her? Is that okay?
But it's so cute?
But it won't look as good on me as it does her? or will it...it will just be 3 sizes bigger!
What do you say?

what do you say?
You know the saying..."when life gives you lemons, make lemonade"
Well, here is my saying for today..."when life gives you a cold sore, don't kiss your husband for a week"
I have a cold sore. boo.
So my little big sister is coming to visit next weekend!!! wooohooo. Finally someone in my family coming to see us. It has been a while so I am excited. And I get to see my cute and complete brainiac of a nephew and my niece, who was born on my birthday, therefore we are bonded for life. Welcome to the club Heidi!
Mike is going ice fishing tomorrow and I am completely jealous. Have fun honey while I sulk at work.
Ciao.

I've been thinking...
I am going to have a better attitude.
I am going to appreciate what I have.
I am going to try to accept where I am in life and my current situation.
I am going to be kinder to Mike and to have fun with him and show him more often how much I love him.
I am going to read the Book of Mormon again. If you want to too contact me.
I am going to spend more time with my friends and my family.
I am going to print the bazillion digital photos I have sitting on our memory cards.
I am going to be more diligent in my prayers with God and Jesus Christ.
